I have a wide range of subjects that interest me. I prefer to paint from real life only using photos for reference or if a sitter cannot spare the time to sit for a portrait.
My subjects include

• Portraits
• Landscapes
• Wildlife
• Still life

Portraits…

• From life

I prefer to paint from life and expect to complete a head and shoulders portrait in 2 x 1.5 hours sittings.

This can be done in my studio in Suffolk or at a clients home.

• Using Sykpe or FaceTime

It is possibe to do a portrait over Skype or FaceTime. It can be fun as we can chat or listen to music whatever you feel comfortable with!

• Good quality photographs

These can be supplied by yourself or I can come and photograph a subject which is more successful as I can then meet the sitter and get to know a bit about the person

Landscapes…

• From life “plein air”

This is by far and away my favourite way of painting. The changing light, sky, atmosphere all effect the way a painting comes out.

• Using photographic reference

I rarely use photo reference exclusively, I will do on-site watercolour sketches in addition to taking reference photos
